Floating Away: Thoughts about Freedom
What is Freedom? From a philosophical point of view, it is the gift of free will, the possibility of the mind to think and dream of whatever it desires. a condition reserved for humans, and unfortunately, not equal for all. Place and time and other things precondition the person or society. The concept of Freedom is a social and political construct to establish rules and boundaries; and therefore different depending on culture and sociopolitical situation.
The power of the mind and our imagination are able to escape to a desired place and time, even if it is for a little while. for just a fleeting moment.
The three objects on the wall address my longing for inner freedom, of an expansive Bachelardian space that erases all walls, boundaries and confinements, a – Freiraum – free space. Evoked by wind and movement anticipating spiritual transformation.
